Speaker 1: Becky Brown, CCS
Topic: Women’s Heart Health – differences between pacemakers & defibrillators
Becky has been in HIMS since 1985, starting out as a file clerk at a small hospital in central NY before moving to AZ in 1990 and starting her career at Sun Health. There she was a file clerk, release of info tech and a coder before moving into the coding manager position in 2005. As a coding manager at Banner Health, she has been involved in the reorganization of the acute care coding team. In her spare time, Becky enjoys reading, crocheting and seeing her 8 grandchildren.
Speaker 2: Ann Rees, RHIA, CCS, CHC
Topic: Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition- a coding overview of the differences, advantages, disadvantages and procedures associated with Enteral and Parenteral nutrition.
Thru my employment with Banner Health I have over 40 years of experience in the Health Information Management field. Early on I discovered my love for coding and education and as a Coding Educator I can combine my passion every day. I am an RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), and CHC (Certified in Health Care Compliance). Currently I am serving AzHIMA as the Chairman of the Fundraising committee.
Speaker 3: Micki Goad, MBA, RHIA
Topic: Burns/Burn Treatments
A graduate of the Phoenix College HIT program, Micki has worked in the HIM field in several capacities for over 20 years. Micki is an Arizona transplant having grown up in the Midwest.
Currently, she is a member of the AzHIMA Education committee and is employed by Banner Health as an Associate Director of Acute Care Coding. Additionally, Micki is an adjunct faculty member with Grand Canyon University in the Healthcare Informatics master’s degree program.
