Mayo Clinic is seeking an experienced Health Information Management Supervisor for Completion, Compliance and Escalation. In this role you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with HIMS leadership to lead a team of employees through change management as Mayo Clinic transitions to Epic.
The supervisor builds and supports a team to assure quality documentation in the electronic health record throughout Mayo Clinic. The supervisor effectively manages onsite staff and teleworkers and encourages self-directed teams. Communicates ideas, develops and implements policies, and initiates program development and coaching/mentoring. The supervisor promotes educational opportunities to staff and encourages staff to learn, grow and take on leadership roles; provides leadership and representation for staff; serves on institutional committees/work groups/client practice groups; provides in-depth expertise in medical documentation best practices, process improvement, problem resolution and regulatory agency and institutional standards and requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills and a commitment to quality and excellence in service are important components of the role. Travel expectation is typically 25%, however, travel in the first year may be 50% travel to Jacksonville, FL and the Midwest.
Associate degree in health information, organizational leadership, business, or related field required. Three years of relevant management experience in a healthcare setting. Previous supervisory experience in a collaborative workplace required. Bachelor’s degree and RHIT or RHIA credentials preferred.
