Webcast Discussion on New Third Universal Definition of Sepsis and Type II, AMI
This discussion will benefit coders and CDI’s alike in understanding the new definition of Sepsis that was recently published on February 22, 2016 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) with the SOFA criteria.
The Sepsis taskforce recommends additional clinical trials before the full application of these criteria, so don’t expect SIRS/Sepsis to vanish overnight.
We will also be discussing the proposal for a new code proposal for Type II, AMI and the differences between a Type I and Type II, AMI and all the different issues involved in reporting AMI’s.
Hosted by Debra Beisel Denton, RHIA, CCS, CCDS, AzHIMA Coding Roundtable Coordinator and Teri Buffington, RN, CCDS, Honor Health
